Torre Pellice, between history and current events
Torre Pellice is a small town, located in the province of Turin at the foot of Mount Vandalino. It owes its name to the tower built on the hill of the “fort”.
In Torre Pellice you can spend pleasant moments, with natural, historical, cultural, artistic, culinary and sports attractions.
In the town there is an important Waldensian cultural center, which houses the Waldensian museum, where a collection of works by the painter Paolo Paschetto, author of the coat of arms of the Italian Republic, is located. In the same building there is a library, with more than one hundred thousand volumes.
There is a lively interest in art, thanks to local artists, and the presence of public and private galleries, the Civic Gallery of Contemporary Art Filippo Scroppo open all year round, of the highest level, and the studio for contemporary art Tucci Russo, promoter of exhibitions of international resonance.
It is ideal for excursions, given the numerous sites, in the midst of nature…
It boasts a long tradition of skating and a historic ice hockey team.
On Friday mornings it hosts the market, on the second Saturday of every month the organic and natural products market is held all day.
